NNeurodivergent Clinic

About the clinic

A clinic built around the report you actually need.

Most assessment services sell you an assessment and leave you to work out whether the document at the end does the job. We start from the other direction: what does this report have to achieve, and what does it therefore have to contain?

Why we exist

Adults who suspect they are autistic or have ADHD get bounced around. The GP is not sure who to refer to. The psychiatrist has an eighteen-month waitlist. The psychologist charges three thousand dollars and the report turns out not to be accepted by the body the person needed it for. People pay twice, or give up.

The fix is not complicated. Assess properly, say plainly what we found and what we did not, and write the report so it answers the question the person came in with — whether that is workplace adjustments, university accommodations, a Centrelink claim, an NDIS access request, or simply understanding themselves.

How we work

  1. Assessments are psychologist-led. A registered psychologist conducts the clinical interview, administers and scores the instruments, and writes the report. This is within a psychologist’s scope of practice and is how most adult autism and ADHD assessments in Australia are done.

  2. A psychiatrist is available when the question needs one. Some questions need a medical opinion — ADHD medication, complex psychiatric history, or evidence requirements that specifically name a medical practitioner. Where that applies we say so before you book, not after you have paid.

  3. Every report gets a second set of eyes. A second clinician reviews the formulation and the conclusions before the report is released. It slows us down slightly. It is the difference between a report that holds up and one that does not.

  4. Everything happens by video. Adult autism and ADHD assessments are interview- and questionnaire-driven. That translates to video without losing anything material. It also means you are assessed from home, which for a lot of our clients is the difference between doing it and not doing it.

What we will not do

We will not promise you a diagnosis. You are paying for an assessment and an honest opinion. Sometimes the honest opinion is that the criteria are not met, or that something else explains what you are experiencing better. If that is what we find, that is what the report says — and we will tell you what we think is worth looking at instead.

We will not tell you a report guarantees an outcome. NDIS access, DSP, and workplace or university adjustments are decided by those bodies, not by us. What we can do is make sure the report contains the evidence those decisions actually turn on, in the form they expect it.

We will not take your money if an assessment is the wrong move. If a screening call suggests you do not need what you think you need, we will say so and refund the booking.
